چکیده
Abstract The electric conduction under intense fields (up to ? 10 9 V/m) in nanofluids using surface-modified ZnO–C 18 nanoparticles dispersed mineral oil as host, is investigated with both experiments and numerical simulations. measurements are used estimate unknown parameters necessary represent the generation loss of electrons an electrohydrodynamic model for without a needle-plane configuration. suggests that induce enhanced field emission from negative needles, explaining significantly larger currents measured nanofluid compared those host liquid. It also found scavenging by process which negligible due attachment oil. shown hinder streamer initiation reducing effective at tip needle. This reduction caused combined effect electron injection through strong Thus, on needle reaches same threshold value when incepted oil, although voltage. Characteristics of Mineral Oil-based Nanofluids for Power Transformer Application
Received Feb 7, 2017 Revised Apr 5, 2017 Accepted Apr 29, 2017 Trends in the field of nanomaterial-based transformer oil show most of the conducted works have focused only on the transformer oil-based nanofluids but limited studies on the stability of transformer oil-based nanofluids. Since mineral oil-based nanofluids still can produce the sedimentation, thus the cold-atmospheric pressure plas...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Deviations from the local field approximation in negative streamer heads
Negative streamer ionization fronts in nitrogen under normal conditions are investigated both in a particle model and in a fluid model in local field approximation. The parameter functions for the fluid model are derived from swarm experiments in the particle model. The front structure on the inner scale is investigated in a one-dimensional setting, allowing reasonable run time and memory consu...
متن کاملModel for heat conduction in nanofluids.
A comprehensive model has been proposed to account for the large enhancement of thermal conductivity in nanofluids and its strong temperature dependence, which the classical Maxwellian theory has been unable to explain. The dependence of thermal conductivity on particle size, concentration, and temperature has been taken care of simultaneously in our treatment. While the geometrical effect of a...
متن کاملStreamer Propagation in Magnetic Field
The propagation of a streamer near an insulating surface under the influence of a transverse magnetic field is theoretically investigated. In the weak magnetic field limit it is shown that the trajectory of the streamer has a circular form with a radius that is much larger than the cyclotron radius of an electron. The charge distribution within the streamer head is strongly polarized by the Lor...
